The pool house is the heart of BW2 activities during the summer season, and the pool is managed by a dedicated team of certified lifeguards who are also responsible for much of the summer programming.
Weather‐permitting, the pool opens each year on Victoria Day weekend, and closes on Labour Day. The pool is open to residents of BW2 family and friends must be accompanied by a resident at all times (see our Pool Guest Policy below). The pool is heated, and there are men’s and women’s change rooms with showers.

- A swim test is required for children using the pool for the first time each summer.
- Children 8* years of age and older who have passed the facility swim test may swim unaccompanied. They are expected to obey the directions of the lifeguards at all times, and must be able to return home independently if requested by the lifeguards or should the pool close unexpectedly.
- Non-swimmers and children under the age of 8* must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 12 years of age and responsible for their direct supervision.
- Parents or guardians are responsible for the children in their care while at the pool and must directly supervise them at all times. Guardians must be at least 12 years of age.
- The maximum ratio of non-swimmers to parent or guardian is 4:1. The maximum ratio of swimmers under the age of 8* to parent or guardian is 8:1.
- If a parent or guardian needs to leave the poolside they must leave their child/children under the supervision of another parent or guardian. THE LIFEGUARDS ARE NOT BABYSITTERS.
- Children in flotation devices and children who have not passed the facility swim test must remain in the shallow end of the pool, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian who is in the water with them.
- During swim lessons the pool is not available for public swim (Mon-Fri 9:00am to 12:00pm during July and August).
* Age as of December 31st of the current year
